Take It To The Lord In Prayer

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. James 5:13-15

According to James 5:13, the first response to trouble is prayer. Before making that phone call or doing doing anything by your own strength, PRAY. Philippians 4:6 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Many times we find comfort in telling everybody else all that is in our hearts except God. Our Father in heaven is interested in the tiniest details of your life. Before He formed you, He knew you and predestined you for greatness.

Nothing you will ever hand over to God will leave you the same. The next verse of Philippians 4:7 says that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. In other words, God is in the business of exchanging our burdens for His peace.

Before you tell it to men, take it to God in prayer.
